Yahoo Mail - Exercise 2 - Attachments

If you have not completed exercise 1, you should do so now. Remember to do this assignment it is best to have 2 copies of your web browser open at the same time, one to view these notes and another to view your email service. you can do this as follows: Resize this window and place it on the right-hand side of the screen, then click here: Yahoo Mail to open another www.mail.yahoo.com in another browser window.

Exercise 2:

Send a message to another student in your class and attach one of the files from your class folder. Ask another student to attach a file and send it to you also. (If there is no one else you can ask to send you an attachment, you can always send it to yourself)

In Yahoo mail you would do this as follows:

  1. Compose a message.
  2. Enter the students email address (or your own) in the To: box.
  3. Type here is my attachment in the Subject box.
  4. Below the large Message box, select Edit Attachments.
  5. Click on the Browse button.
  6. Select the drive/folder/file you wish to attach and select Open
  7. Then click on the Attach File button
  8. Click on the Done button.
  9. Click on the Send button

Pick up the attachment you have been sent and save it on your drive h:

In Yahoo you can do this as follows:

  1. Select Check Mail on the left.
  2. Select the text describing the subject of the message you wish to read.
  3. Select Download without scan from the Attachment box below the text of the message
  4. Make sure that Save this file to disk is selected in the next dialogue box and then clock on OK.
  5. Change the name of the file to Attachment and save it on drive h:

Assignment 2

Send one of your previous assignment files, which you have saved on drive h: to mulligan.brian@itsligo.ie as an attachment.
