Lectures and Pool Dates
Lectures and pool sessions have been completed for the year.
CPR Course
The CPR course took place place in April. Cost £5. All who took part contact Bill who has certificates and further info. All trainees must attend as it is a required lecture.

Trips Away
Venues, times and duration of this years trips are as follows.
Snorkel Trip
A snorkel training weekend took place at Mullaghmore on Sat and Sun the 2nd and 3rd of December.
Easter Trip
The annual Easter trip was cancelled due to Foot and Mouth. Alternative dates and venues will be announced in due course. A series of one day trips in May and June are possible alternatives.

Quiz
Once again last year the club held a fundraising quiz in Dicey Reillys Pub and was once again a great success. All contestants had a great night and the club raised over £200 for the club. It is proposed that this will become an annual occasion.

1997
As well as diving most weekends, we had 3 trips away:
- 3 day trip to Lettermore Island in Connemara.
- 1 day trip to Killary harbour. This included 2 boat dives with Scuba Dive West.
- 3 day trip to Dingle in Co. Kerry.
- 2 divers Damian Allan and Donal O'Kelly pasted tests held in the Northern Region to qualify as Club Divers (CMAS **).

1998
As well as the normal weekly Theory Lectures, Pool Training sessions and Weekend Dives the following activities took place:
- In March, a money making pub quiz was organised, which was a highly enjoyable social club event.
- Two Environmental Science students did a degree and a diploma project, respectively, which involved some diving.
- In the Easter Holidays in April there was a very successful 4 day trip to Aranmore Island Co. Donegal, attended by 18 members, with a boat dive for Bill and 8 students. Sponsorship for the food on the trip was obtained from N.C.F. Dairies.
- On Sun 17th May 1998 there was a 1 day trip to Mallin Beg, Co. Donegal, involving 1 boat dive and one shore dive. Boat and Bus transport was paid for from I.T. Sligo Sub-aqua Club funds, so the trip was free for club members. We met at Bill Crowe’s House at 8.00am and returned at approx. 10pm on the same day.
- A CPR course in resuscitation and cardiac massage was given by the Irish heart foundation to 15 club members. Upon completion of the course certificates were obtained by those who attended.
- At the Club Diver Tests on the 20th September, at Mullaghmore, one of our members Keelin Allen became a qualified Club Diver (CMAS **).
- Peter Berry was the only club member to attend the Club Diver test on the 18th October at St. John’s Point. Along with ten other trainee divers fromn different clubs in the region he obtained his Club Diver (CMAS **) qualification.
- There were numerous weekend dives during the summer months.

1999
As well as the normal weekly Theory Lectures, Pool Training sessions and Weekend Dives the following activities took place:
- In December the club held an "ice breaking" snorkel trip to Mullaghmore.
- In March, a money making pub quiz was organised, which was a highly enjoyable social club event.
- In the Easter Holidays in April there was a very successful 5 day trip to Aranmore Island Co. Donegal, attended by in excess of 20 members, with a boat dive for Bill and 5 students. In addition to current club members, two past members and a guest monitor two , Ronan Murrary, from Sligo Sub Aqwua Club attended. Sponsorship for the food on the trip was obtained from N.C.F. Dairies and other local businesses.
- On Sat 8th May 1998 there was a 1 day trip to St. Johns Point, Co. Donegal, involving 2 boat dives.
- The following members passed their Trainee Diver (CMAS *) Tests. Ken Mc Namara, Katie O Donovan, Dermot Greaney, Maria Keeney and Gary Canny.
- A CPR course in resuscitation and cardiac massage was given by the Irish heart foundation to club members. Upon completion of the course certificates were obtained by those who attended.
- At the Rescue Diver Tests during August, at St. Johns Point, three of our members, Damien Allen, Enda Gibney and Peter Berry became qualified Rescue Diver (CMAS).

2000
As well as the normal weekly Theory Lectures, Pool Training sessions and Weekend Dives the following activities took place:
- On Thursday the 4th of Nov a rep from the Sligo Bay Lifeboat crew gave a presentation on Water Safety and dicussed the possibility of the club participating in a rescue simulation. This subsequently took place at Oyster Island ion Sligo Bay with Peter, Jamie, Katie and Bill representing the club. It is planned to repeat the excerise as both the club and the RNLI crew felt that it was useful.
- In December the club held an "ice breaking" snorkel trip to Mullaghmore.
- In March, a money making pub quiz was organised, which was a highly enjoyable social club event.
- In the Easter Holidays in April there was a very successful 5 day trip to Achill Island Co. Mayo, attended by in excess of 25 members, with a boat dive for Bill and 6 students. In addition to current club members, two past members, a guest leading divers, Kevin Chestnutt (Nass Sub Aqua Club) and 2 guest monitors, Richard Thorn (Sligo Sub Aqua Club and Eileen Noonan (Galway Sub Aqua Club) attended. Sponsorship for the food on the trip was obtained from N.C.F. Dairies and other local businesses.
- A CPR course in resuscitation and cardiac massage was given by the Irish Heart Foundation to club members. Upon completion of the course certificates were obtained by those who attended.
- The following members passed their Trainee Diver (CMAS *) Tests during the Easter Trip. Andrew Mc Conville, John Leydon, Sean Cryan, Ciaran Mc Donagh and Oliver Buckley.
- Three of our members Katie O Donovan, Ken Mc Namara and Ciaran Mc Donagh became qualified Club Divers (CMAS **).
