North Sligo Athletics Club: Wins at Connacht Junior out-door Championships (Daingean, Galway) 2008

Boys Under 14 200m and 80m: Kieran Elliot won silver, second place in finals in both events.
Boys Under 14 100m Hurdles: John Burke won silver, second place in finals.

Girls Under 16 1500m and 800m : Ciara Mc.Bride won gold, first place in both finals, in times of 5min-19sec and 2min-31sec, respectively.

Boys Under 16 1500m : Kevin McGlynn won his first ever Connacht title taking gold in a time of 4min-53sec.

Boys Under 17 3K : Feidhlem McGowan, the crosscountry schools international, won gold, first place in finals, in 9min-48sec.

Girls Under 18 3K : Emma Neary won gold, first place in finals, in 11min-53sec.

Boys Under 18 1500m : Ryan Monanghan won gold, first place in finals, in 4min-10sec.

Boys Under 18 800m : Michael Gilligan won gold, first place in finals, in 2.05min-42sec., John Fahey finished second, winning silver, in 2min-15sec., and Lorcan Roddy was third, winning bronze, in 2min-15sec.

Boys Under 19 800m : Tommy Carroll won gold, first place in finals, in a apersonal best time of 1min-54.9sec; which is a new North Sligo Ac record.

The North Sligo Relay Team that obtained Silver, second place, medals in the Boys 4 X 100m Under 14 years Relay event:
L to R: David Dolan, John Burke, Kieran Elliot, Jake Freely and Shane Gillen.

The first 4 in each competition have now qualified for the national finals which will be held in the Antrim Forum on Saturday 5th July for the 800m and 3K races and some of the sprints. The rest of the events will be held in Tullamore on Saturday and Sunday 12th and 13th July.
