Sligo Team Community Games: Athletics: Sligo Medal Winners at Community Games All-Ireland Finals in Athlone, on Sunday 21st August 2011:

The Boys U16 Sligo Marathon Team:
Gold medal: Cian McBride; Drumcliffe;(Red, White & BlacK);
Silver medal: William Crowe; Maugherow;(Royal Blue & White);
Bronze medal: Cian Mulrooney; Enniscrone; (Yellow & White);
Dylan Carty; Cornageeha: (Orange & Black) ; (4th)
The Girls U16 Sligo Marathon Team:
Gold medal: Rosie Hynes; Kilmactigue; (White & Maroon);
Silver medal: Sorcha Fallon; Calry; (Red & White);
Bronze medal: Claire Conlon; Geevagh;(Blue & White)
Orla Mulvihill; St Mary's;(Green & White); (4th)

Boys Under 14 4 X 100m Relay: Gold: Rosses Point, representing Sligo
(having won gold at the County finals, at the Institute of Technology Sligo athletics track, on Sunday 26 June 2011).

The U14 4X 100m relay Sligo Boys county champions from Rosses Point were Gold medal winners at Athlone. The Team Consisted of (from left to right, in second photo of group with their medals) Graham Burke, Sean Power, Ronan Anderson and Shane Flanaghan.
Individual Gold Medal Winners for Sligo included: Kieran Prior, Coolera (U12 long puck), Philip Hamilton, Drumcliffe (Boys U14 80m hurdles), Rosie Hynes, Kilmactigue (individual Girls U16 marathon).
Silver individual medal winners were: Leo Doherty, Coolera (U12 Boys 600m), Cian McBride, Drumcliffe ( individual Boys U16 marathon).
Team silver medal winners were: the U11 Ballymote mixed tag rugby team, the U14 Coolera mixed tag rugby team and the Cornageeha U13 Boys Futsal team.
Individual Bronze Medal Winners: Ciara Herron, Cliffoney/Grange (Girls U14 shot putt) and Odhran Gildea, St.Mary's (Boys U16 100m).
The Riverstown U13 Rounders team won a fourth place medal.
Ronan Anderson, Rosses Point, was winning his 2nd.Gold medal in successive weeks, having won a Gold individual medal in the Boys U14 Breast Stroke in swimming the previous week, prior to this weeks Gold team medal with Rosses Point Boys U14 4 X 100m relay team.
In swimming: Gold: Boys U14 Breast Stroke, Ronan Anderson, Rosses Point; U16 Back stroke, Kieth McMullen, St. Feichins. Silver: Girls U8 Freestyle, Danielle Farrell, St Mary's; Boys U16 Freestyle, Joseph Mooney, Drumcliffe. Bronze: Boys U16 Butterfly, Ciaran McCloskey, Drumcliffe; U14 Breast Stroke, Jade Murphy, Riverstown; U16 Girls Back Stroke, Shona Keaveny, St. Michael's.
In Gymnastics: David Byrne, Drumcliffe, won a silver medal in the Boys U14 Competition.
In team events: silver medals went to the St. Michael's U12 and U16 mixed scittles, while Ballymote U15 girls soccer team also won silver medals.
Adrian Frain, Bunninadden, won a bronze in the U14 cycling.
Fourth place medals went to Eoin Dwyer, Riverstown, in the Boys U10 freestyle in swimming, Naoise Scott-Ryan, St. Feichin's in the U10 freestyle, the U16 pitch and putt girls team from Rosses Point, the Pitch and Putt best individual, Maeve Rooney, Rosses Point, and the U14 St. Feichin's skittles team.
Well Done to all!!! What a great group of Junior Atheletes we have in Sligo!!!
